building a moon - Page 2 Empty Re: building a moon

if defense is strong enough, there are no ships required on the planet, use simulation to be sure ( http://websim.speedsim.net/ )

some people prefer to play without strong defense - then ships has to be used to destroy the incoming LFs - the best is to use 300 cruisers to kill LFs - but you have to watch the 300 cruisers as they may be destroyed by someone else - number of 300 cruisers is from "30% universe" so they are good enough to kill 1670 LFs

when doing moonshot "my way", the risk is only that during that 30 seconds, when debris is not collected, someone steals it (it is possible, if someone uses phalanx), it does not happen often though

I thought that when a moon was created, no debris was left over from the moonshot

That is incorrect sir, you not only get a moon but the debris field still remains too. Smile

example of moonshot (a moon was not created) :

each moonshot "costs" 3mln of resources (or 5mln if somebody steals debris) plus deuterium for flight of the attacking fleet and recyclers

defender does not do anything, so attacker can do the moonshot at any time which is convenient to him/her

Attacker ARC3582 (2:14:8)
Weapons: 120% Shields: 110% Armour: 120%
L.Fighter 1.250
Recy. 1

Defender GreenRobot (1:179:10)
Weapons: 120% Shields: 120% Armour: 120%
L.Cargo 24
L.Fighter 50
Cruiser 35
Battleship 10
Col. Ship 5
Recy. 20
Esp.Probe 12
Bomber 1
Sol. Sat 250
Battlecr. 1
R.Launcher 5.000
L.Laser 2.000
H.Laser 200
Gauss 100
Plasma 40
S.Dome 1
L.Dome 1

After battle...

Attacker ARC3582 (1:179:10)
destroyed!

Defender GreenRobot (1:179:10)
L.Cargo 24
L.Fighter 50
Cruiser 35
Battleship 10
Col. Ship 5
Recy. 20
Esp.Probe 12
Bomber 1
Sol. Sat 248
Battlecr. 1
R.Launcher 4.973
L.Laser 1.990
H.Laser 200
Gauss 100
Plasma 40
S.Dome 1
L.Dome 1

He captured
- metal, - crystal and - deuterium.

The attacker lost a total of 5.016.000 units.
The defender lost a total of 78.000 units.
At these space coordinates now float 1.504.000 metal and 504.000 crystal.
The chance for a moon to be created is 20 %.

example #2 (moon not created)
deuterium used: around 300K (200K for recyclers, 100K for fleet)

Attacker GreenRobot (4:400:5)
Weapons: 120% Shields: 120% Armour: 120%
L.Fighter 120
Cruiser 124
Battleship 20
Recy. 1

Defender ARC3582 (2:14:7)
Weapons: 120% Shields: 110% Armour: 120%
Sol. Sat 25
R.Launcher 2.800
L.Laser 2.000
H.Laser 350
Gauss 120
Ion C. 470
Plasma 220
S.Dome 1
L.Dome 1

After battle...

Attacker GreenRobot (2:14:7)
destroyed!

Defender ARC3582 (2:14:7)
Sol. Sat 25
R.Launcher 2.714
L.Laser 1.922
H.Laser 343
Gauss 120
Ion C. 468
Plasma 220
S.Dome 1
L.Dome 1

He captured
- metal, - crystal and - deuterium.

The attacker lost a total of 5.044.000 units.
The defender lost a total of 400.000 units.
At these space coordinates now float 1.500.000 metal and 517.600 crystal.
The chance for a moon to be created is 20 %.

=================================

and 30 seconds later:
Your 111 recycler(s) have a total cargo capacity of 2.220.000. At the target, 1.500.000 metal and 520.000 crystal are floating in space. You have harvested 1.500.000 metal and 520.000 crystal.
