Ships in shipyard during attacks
Do the ships in your shipyard have any defensive capability or is it all on the defenses?

Ships will fight which really isnt a good thing if you see an incoming attack 99% of the time u will scramble all your ships and fleet save em. There usually a liability on defense and if someone spys you and sees you have alot you just asking for an attack to come kill your ships and they scoop up the pieces
Rule 1 Make yourself appear to be as un-profitable as you can.
Ships = Debris = profit

no problem im a huge noob myself but ive learned that the hard way especially with this 70% debris it isnt hard for a player with battleships and battlecruisers to decimate a player without em
You would think guass cannons + a nice amount of fodder + small and large domes would do something ..... I took out 1 battle ship only 49 more togo and he also had battle cruisers

If Deadly answered your question, that's good.
However, when you say ships in shipyard, I think of ships being built or in the production queue. Ships that are finished are technically in orbit around your planet, not in the shipyard. Unbuilt/commissioned ships have neither offensive or defensive capability. But on the plus side, they can't be targeted and the resources needed to build them cannot be stolen.
Thus another way to save resources is to build something that doesn't complete before the attack lands. You can cancel buildings, facilities, and researches you start without any loss of resources. Defensive structures and ships cannot be canceled and thus you cannot get resources back.
