new layout!!!! you can now pick the speed of the universe you play in
woohoo
also if you notice more and more boxes are starting to display data. thats cause the code for those boxes is complete. so you can track the progress in here to if your waiting on this to finish. now you can see how far it is from being done

Wow, that is cool. Love the layout so far. It looks nice and simple, easy to use and understand. When did you start working on this?

Re: ogame resource calc screenshots(Software Finished)
i started designing the layout less than a week ago. i started writing the code for it at about midnight last night since last night the program layout has undergone about 4 changes also on top of me writing the code. if everything goes good i should be done in about 48 more hours.
as i write this post the layout has undergone yet another change. will post a screen shot here later so you can see the new layout. i'm also going to write code to change the color of the available energy to change it to yellow when it drops below 100 and to red if it drops below 0 that way it has a visual warning that your running low on available energy to run mines. i'm also going to set it up so that if your reactor deut usage on a planet is more than you mine in an hour it will turn the cell red to let you know that you have a deficit of deut

Re: ogame resource calc screenshots(Software Finished)
so i got some good news. I've contacted the ogame mod team about my program. once I've finished it i'm supposed to post it on the ogame.us boards and they are going to try and get it approved by gameforge as an acceptable tool. YAY. i cant wait. god i'm almost done. i just haven't coded in so long i forget the commands to save and load data and i'm having a bitch of a time getting it to work. other than that the program is done. but i'm not posting it yet. every time you close it it clears all values. THAT sucks having to always reenter it

Re: ogame resource calc screenshots(Software Finished)
thanks llysa. i originally started this just for you members of my alliance. and i've kinda gone overboard with it. hehehe hopefully tomorrow i can figure out the last of the code i need to make it save and reload the data properly. so far as it sits the application is TINY. its less than 1 megabyte i didnt think it was gonna be that small but it is. i wish i knew someone that has been writing in visual basic for a while that could help me figure out the last of the code i need. but for now i'm just sitting here reading everything i can find on visual basic 2010 that will hopefully point me in the right direction. also i'm taking a break from coding while i get caught up on "The Event", "Harry's Law", "The Cape", and "Fairly Legal" i'm kinda behind on all my favorite series. been neglecting the tv for a while as i've been so busy. Thank god that i have Charter cable and they offer "On Demand" viewing. i would be so lost without it.
i'll send a circular as soon as the program is done and where it can be downloaded from. thanks for all the support

You sure are putting a lot of work into this, and it shows. Good job!
And I've never seen Harry's Law, but I've wanted to for a while now.

Re: ogame resource calc screenshots(Software Finished)
Feedback:
- tab doesn't work like it should, unless it was intentional that it move down the column instead of through the rows.
- "you typed an invalid value. Please try again" can't close error pop up. (had to terminate program)
- It doesn't seem like there's a way to set the percentage of production for the mines or fusion reactor.

Re: ogame resource calc screenshots(Software Finished)
all boxes must have a value in them even if its just 0. if you leave a box blank it will pop up a error message for every box that is blank. so if you leave them all blank you can expect to see about 86 error messages in a row. the tabs are currently set for down. i dont know why the program did that but i am working on fixing that for version 1.1 as well as the error messages problem. setting production % on the mines and the power plants is an interesting idea that i hadn't considered. i might have to look into that thanks for that idea.

Re: ogame resource calc screenshots(Software Finished)
okay i've got the tab order changed so it works from left to right now. also i've fixed the annoying error messages
havent gotten to the percentages part yet as that will take a complete reworking of the software and it will probably come at a later date when i incorporate the add planets feature so that you can add values for more than 12 planets.
oh to download v1.1 which has the fixed error messages and the correct tab order just click the link you used to download version 1.0 from the box above. it now contains version 1.1 when you download

Re: ogame resource calc screenshots(Software Finished)
Seems to be working as intended now.
Minor details:
- when you tab into a cell, it doesn't automatically highlight the contents. Not sure if there's a way to change that since it would make changing values easier.
- In the "deut after fusion" output, there is no comma thing for large numbers, which make it a bit harder to read.
- Is there any consequences to the output when your available energy is in the red?
Sorry for the picky complaints ! I think it's great that you're spending your free time making this, and now I don't need to use a calculator to see how my mines are doing.
I guess the next step, the thing that drove you to make this in the first place, is to incorporate a banner generator.

Re: ogame resource calc screenshots(Software Finished)
production drops when your energy drops below 0 and the cells turn red. but i dont know the formula for figuring that and i havent found one anywhere. i guess i can talk to the ogame team and see if one of them knows the formula or can get it for me. as far as the highlighting of the cell. i'll see what i can do to change that. and the commas in the deut after will be easy to add. its only 4 little lines of code to change that. i didn't even notice that they were missing. thanks much for the input

Re: ogame resource calc screenshots(Software Finished)
figure postive energy and reverse it by corresponding numbers..

Re: ogame resource calc screenshots(Software Finished)
yeah but see your production drops by percentages. the lower below 0 your energy goes the more it drops. say your at -20 you might still be at 90% production. say it goes to -1000 maybe your at 18% still maybe your at 1% without knowing the formula that figures it it would be very hard to set the program up to account for this

Re: ogame resource calc screenshots(Software Finished)
maybe its a variable . that cant b accounted for . but you can still assign a % to it . as a unknown. it should only b like 2% variable . just a thought..
