does it work if your planets are all in the same system. trying to get a nanite factory. then geothermal plant going.

igrn works regardless of if your planets are in the same system or spread out across all the galaxies from 1-9. just remember that your igrn only links so many labs together per level. so for best results have all your labs at high levels and try for a high level of igrn.

what exactally does ign do and is it worth it i havent really played alot of other uni but i did in uni 1 and we didnt have it when i was playing so more detailed info would be helpful.

It combines the levels of your research labs to reduce research times. I believe level 1 allows you to link 2 of your highest level labs (etc 10 + 10), effectively giving you a level 20 research lab.

yes, and lets say you have 9 planets, all at level 10 lab, and ign at high enough to utilize 9 labs... thats like having a level 90 lab doing your research, expensive as hell to advance, but worth it in the end when your trying to advance your techs

oh I didn't know that's how it works. That's really useful. I have 2 or 3 lvl 12 labs and IRN lvl 2 so does that mean that 2 of my lvl 12 labs are linked giving me a combined lvl 24 lab?

The number of labs linked is the IRN level + 1, so the combined lab level in your case is 24 + whatever level your 3rd highest lab is.
