moon shots
alright i know i am pushing my luck but i want another moon so my research colony can "upgrade" to a outpost.
from what i can tell moon shots are done using Solar Satellites
so how many are recommended for a moon shot?from what i can tell it is 1400
*if admins want to they can move this to the moon shots*

Re: moon shots
why do you want another moon? you should be good with 1 moon for now. I would worry about getting some mines, some more colonies and definitely defense. most importantly mines. remember when you outranked me? thats cause all my resources go into mines =P it works man.
PS moon shots are usually done using ships usually LFs idk how many it would be because its 1 70% fleet into DF uni but in a regular uni its 1667

Re: moon shots
yes i relize that mines are important. the research colony in g5 has the most advanced mines in my empire.it's also been given a shipyard capable of creating ships.so my plan is that as soon as my mistake is over(about a day left) i'm going to turn my home world into a fortress.
i'm going to put ALL resources made in the home world into defenses.after it is huge,i'll upgrade the capicity of the it in order to hold the nessary massive resources to put a jump gate on it.but,i needs 2 to operate...that's where the second moon will come in.
as a result i can make all the ships i want in g5,and transport it to hw.

Re: moon shots
that doesn't make to much sense from a game play stand point but you can do what you want.

Re: moon shots
stats without strategy is just garbage, food for thought.
right now you have 8k points, getting a JG will cost you 2kk metal, 4kk crystal and 2kk deut (thats 8k points right there) not to mention the robotics and lunar bases you need to build first. so if thats what you want to do then i wish you luck saving up that much resources and holding it without getting raided for it with your small mines until then.

Re: moon shots
theirs goals and theres fundamentals
you would have to do the basics pretty much before your goals, to make your goals easier.
the fundamentals include a small fleet, mines, decent defense and colonies. the fundamentals make your goals easier, building mines gets you more resources, defense protects those resources and a small fleet lets you raid for resources, colonies also provide resources, its better to have 5 or how ever many planets putting out resources rather then less.

Re: moon shots
If anyone is up to take a shot at me for a moon location 1:285:12 when off line i usually leave 48 battleships in the hope for an attack. just probe 1st to ck if ships at home if so & u want go ahead, the debris is yours or if i get a moon i will repay your loss ( maybe a slight delay)

Re: moon shots
from what I have learned is that the attacking fleet needs to be 715 light fighters and I am willing to give the shots so long as I can get at least 1 for the separation of my planets
